When you register for a Client Area Account to manage and purchase services (Including but not limited to Webhosting, Development Services and Graphic Design), we may ask for your contact information, including items such as name, company name, address, email address, and telephone number. We may also ask for ‘Contacts’ to be added to your account for Billing, Legal, Privacy and Technical contact regarding your purchases: All of this information is stored inline with this policy.

How we use your information

Log Files

AltitudeWeb follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analysing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information. All data is randomised and reported separate to any personal information.

Subject Access Requests (SARs)

Under both GDPR & CCPA legislation, users within the European Union (Including the United Kingdom even after the Transition Period) [Under GDPR] and users within the US State of California [Under CCPA] have a legal right to place a ‘Subject Access Request’. Users from other countries do not, under these laws, have a legal right to a SAR, however AltitudeWeb will follow the same procedure for any user requesting a SAR inline with our Corporate Responsibility.

If you wish to place a SAR, please email our Data Protection, Privacy & Legal team on: privacy@altitudeweb.co.uk with your Subject Line clearly marked ‘Subject Access Request’ – Include your full legal name, contact details and information you are requesting. Please Note: We may require legal identification in the name of the account holder/owner, or a legally signed authorising letter that is legally notarised to provide/hand-over such information.

Children’s Information

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

AltitudeWeb does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

Information Collected/Stored through Webhosting

AltitudeWeb, by nature, offers webhosting services to clients. We take the provision of such service very seriously, and inline with Data Protection (GDPR & CCPA) principles, have enacted a range of safeguards in our system including:
  • Hosting servers remotely to prevent any risk – We use a secure server situated with OVH in their Canadian Datacenter
  • Storage of decryption keys and methodologies away from the database
  • Implementing a full cPanel firewall including IP lockups and login-limitations to prevent brute force attacks
  • Virus Monitoring and Regular Server Audits to ensure integrity of our server
  • Strong Passwords automatically generated when setting-up/resetting accounts
  • Intrusion Monitoring & irregular login auditing (Including temporary 2fA practices) 
  • Offering and promoting use of 2fA
  • Strictly limiting access to AltitudeWeb servers and information (Tiered access control)
  • Storing backups securely locally, and via encrypted Google Drive (GSuite)
  • Keeping a strict retention cycle and deleting all data after this period
